Apprentice Model Daxophone

For more serious daxophonists, I offer this tabletop daxophone, which features three distinct ways to anchor it to a playing surface. After several years, I made some significant improvements to the student model, namely which is the integration of a wooden locking nut and an internal threaded bolt. This locking nut makes changing tongues super fast. The apprentice is of course, still clamped to the table, so you use a clamp solely for stabilization and the wood nut is for tongue positioning. The apprentice model has a nice, wide footprint of the clamping fishtail so only one clamp is needed—the instrument grips the table well. The clamping fishtail has two “eyes”—if you want to, you can screw into a table and not require a clamp at all. The clamping surface is recessed so the clamp gets out of the way of the soundboard. Also, an additional upgrade from student: you get an extra tongue!

The apprentice model A includes:

1) Soundbox (with piezo elements installed) with locking nut and internal threaded bolt.
2) Dax.
3) Four tongues.

I can put a nut on the bottom of the instrument so you can attach it to a tripod. this allows you to be free of a work surface and move your daxophone around the room. But remember: the stability of your instrument will depend on the stability of your tripod, so prepare accordingly!
